Markets can accept EBT
Many authorized farmers markets accept SNAP. Some use a central EBT booth that issues tokens or a market-specific method; others let individual vendors process the card.
What to buy
Eligible food can include produce, bread and seeds or plants that produce food. Prepared hot meals and nonfood goods generally follow the usual SNAP restrictions.
Incentives vary
Some markets offer a produce matching incentive often called Double Up Food Bucks or another local name. Amounts, participating locations and eligible products vary by program; a nationwide dollar match cannot be assumed.
Find a location
Use USDA’s retailer locator and confirm details with the market before visiting. Ask about the EBT booth, market hours and any incentive cap.
