Two fiscal-year figures
For the 48 states and DC, USDA lists a $24 minimum monthly allotment in FY 2026 and $25 in FY 2027 for qualifying one- or two-person households. Alaska, Hawaii and other jurisdictions have separate tables.
It is conditional
The minimum applies to eligible households of the covered sizes. It does not turn an ineligible case into an approved one, and it is not a general minimum for households of three or more.
Why an estimate can be zero
A simplified screening may return zero if an income or resource test is not met or the computed allotment is zero. State categorical eligibility can alter the screening, so request an official review if the result seems surprising.
Check the date
FY 2026 ends September 30, 2026. FY 2027 runs October 1, 2026 through September 30, 2027. Look at the effective date on a notice before comparing its amount with a chart.
