A new state means a new agency
You cannot simply change an address and assume your existing state case becomes a case in the new state. Contact your current office about the move and ask the destination office how to apply there.
Coordinate dates
Ask when your current state will close the case and when you can apply in the new state. Keep notices and do not attempt to receive duplicate benefits for the same month in two states.
Bring your records
Income, identity, residency and household information may need to be verified again. Your new rent and utility situation can affect the net-income calculation.
EBT balance is separate
Ask your original state’s EBT service about using an existing balance after moving. An old EBT card is not a substitute for establishing eligibility with the new state.
