Look for the renewal notice
SNAP benefits are approved for a certification period. Your state tells you when to renew and what information it needs. Missing the deadline can interrupt benefits.
Update changed information
Recertification may ask for current household members, income, housing expenses and other changes. Provide requested verification and complete any interview the agency requires.
Keep records of submission
Save the online confirmation, postmark or office receipt. If you have not heard back near the end of the period, contact the office using the details on your notice.
If benefits stop
Ask why the case closed and how to request review or submit a new application. A prior online estimate cannot reopen an agency case.
